Waking up at 8am on a lazy December morning is definitely not the easiest of tasks. Yet my day was made when we were greeted at Priya’s house by the cutest little 2year old, he was just too adorable and full of hugs and kisses.:) Priya has one of the happiest smiles I’ve ever shot. The one thing that stood out for me at this wedding was the choice of music. I absolutely loved it (and no I'm not being biased) and we all admired the courage it must have taken to play it. Yes people, Alternate rock music at Indian wedding isn’t the easiest thing to get parents to agree too. The wedding was simple and personal, as for the couple they were totally caught up in the moment which was rather cute. Just before we went out for our couple shoot on location it rained buckets (literally!) Mits was rather concerned it wasn’t going to stop but as the saying goes ‘every cloud has a silver lining’. The rain cleared up and left us with an amazing sunset, typically made only by passing storms. more images

This year we shot our first birth shoot, new born shoot and our first few Indian weddings in Durban. We got our first of many weddings featured on an International wedding site like Maharani Weddings, South Asian Bride and Sari Clad Bride.
We have also done our first themed e-shoots, first beach shoot and printed our first set of client albums in New York. Looking back we had some incredibly fun times to accompany our stressful wedding shoots. But we enjoyed every bit of it. Three of the weddings we shoot this year were featured in magazines. A big thank you goes out to Shaori & Himesh, Hasmika & Niraj, and Jeenal and Amit for agreeing to be featured. We would also like to personally thank our printing ladies- Renate, Yvette and Yvonne for making sure each and every one of our albums came out flawless. Thank you to all of our clients who have let us share their special day with them. We hope all of you have a brilliant year full of exciting times. Another big thank you goes out to all our Facebook fans for their continued support over the years- please remember to invite all your friends and family to share in the Designer Photo experience. Be on the lookout for exciting new features and competitions in 2012. View our best of 2011 gallery on Facebook Merry Christmas and we wish you all a very Happy New Year. __ Binita and Dipesh's story is quite fascinating they knew each other as kids when Binita lived in S.A. Binita’s family immigrated to New Zealand when she was still in school, they eventually moved to New South Wales, Australia -where they now live. 18 years later, in 2009, they came to Johannesburg for a wedding and this is where they met. It was love at first sight. They both fell for each other within the first few days but did not tell each other this until the last week of her vacation and thankfully so. Two years later and a long distance relationship spanning oceans, continents, time zones and I’m sure Skype, here they are....
Now for my story: I met Binita and Dipesh for the first time at OR Tambo international. Binita is an avid photographer and after looking at her images I think she would make an amazing travel photographer (that of course, if she changed over to Nikon). Most of my clients like Binita generally have an artistic sense and a passion for photography. I was really lucky to have a couple who love photos. They gave me so much of time for their couple’s shoot that we managed to do something like 5 locations. To Binita and Dipesh thank you for letting us be a part of your special day. Dipesh we hope you have a blast in Australia. More images Make up: Pindhi Décor: Shari Deco Venue: Rama Krishna, Lenasia Three days after Diwali we were jetting of for our first wedding of the season. Vanessa and Santosh wedding was a small temple wedding with about 30 guests. We had loads of time between the wedding and the reception. We were able to do a our couples shoot in the wedding and reception outfit and 3 different places. And i finally got the beach shoot I've been dying to do since we started shooting in Durban. It has never been possible prior to this because of all the late weddings, so I was particularly happy when Vanessa mentioned that her wedding had to be moved from 3 to 12... In between the fun shoot, Mitesh managed to almost loose his shoes in the water. more images
So it was the start of our travel journey, we made our way to Pretoria for this shoot. Strangely enough this is our first shoot in the city of jacarandas. I'm sure many off you will agree that Johannesburg and Pretoria around this time of the year is simply beautiful. Anjli and Prajesh get married next year January. The couple are Lacoste fans and that is the reason for our first shoot being casual. On location we found this amazing shed with train tracks going through. The colour of the shed and couples outfit is purely coincidental. The second shoot I themed slightly more formal. I always think it’s a good idea to shoot 2 options for a couple shoot incase the first idea dates and a few year down the line u' ll be thinking 'what was I thinking'. Anjli and Prajesh were quite lucky with this shoot, as we had just bought two brand new Nikon lens from the photo and film expo the day before. Not many of you know my one weakness is shopping, so together that and photography combined really who could resist. Now there’s just one more lens I need. more images
